Gocek is a small, yet beautiful town set in the gulf of Fethiye. It has remained very much undiscovered by tourists and the town has only recently become more popular with foreigners for its famous yachting harbor and stunning seaside. A visit here is always a pleasurable one; especially if you take a stroll around the marina- they have 6 and take the time to admire the many boats that cover the bay. The town also has many bars and restaurants and if you are moving to Gocek, the Dalaman airport is just a 15 minute drive away, which makes visiting a lot easier.
Indulge in a little yachting
Yachting along turkey’s breathtaking coast is the greatest yachting experience possible. You can take a daily boat ride to see the coves and islands in the Gocek bay area or spare a day or several on a luxurious cruise ship to really experience delight. A wonderful place to visit would be the nearby creek, south of gocek called kapi creek. It’s a gorgeous place to see and your time in gocek would be incomplete if you didn’t take the time to take a ride over. There are many other pretty islands and coves for you to see, and you’ll never be short of transport to get you there.
Living in Gocek
It’s never crowded in Gocek, and is the perfect place for laid back and peaceful living, with no more than 4000 inhabitants In the winter and up to 8000 in the summer. The only foreigners located there are well educated and sophisticated people looking for peace and quiet. Every morning you can enjoy shopping at the local markets and bazaars for its completely fresh produce and is unbelievably tasty. Locals often pick mushrooms in autumn up in the forests. And if you’re an enthusiastic walker, hiking from Gocek to Inlice bay offers you a pleasurable time and lets you admire the beautiful pine forests and picturesque scenery that surround you. The local’s habits and traditions are great to join in on and experience Turkish living, whether you choose to or not, there’s no better way than fitting in, than when you go along with their way of living.
Nightlife
Gocek remains fairly quite at night. But there are plenty of traditional restaurants or café’s to eat and drink at. There are only a handful of bars in the area, as Gocek locals enjoy peace throughout the day and night. For wine lovers, there is a wine bar open with a selection of delicious Turkish wines and imported.
