Cleopatra is said to have bathed everyday on the beach, a gift given to her by her husband. Mark Anthony had pure, soft Egyptian sand imported from Egypt, as Cleopatra wanted to feel as if she was still on Egyptian soil.
Cleopatra’s beach has very little stones or rocks, and mainly just sand. Today, many tourists visit the beach to take part in its variety of water sports and amusements.
