The tasty Turkish desert Kabak Tatlisi is easy to make and is the perfect recipe for the up and coming celebration: Halloween. A lot of people are unaware that pumpkin can be used for cooking, and that it is in fact delicious and at the same time healthy. If you’re up for trying something new and tasty, this is the recipe for you. It requires little ingredients and is defiantly worth having a go at!Ingredients:
4 Cups Pumpkin (peeled and seeded)
1 juiced lemon
2 cups sugar
5 cloves
½ cup walnuts
How to make:
1. Start off by cutting the pumpkin into larger than bite size cubes. Place the pumpkin into a medium sized pan, add the sugar and stir until combined. Leave them to sit for 3-4 hours, until the sugar has dissolved.
2. When you see that the sugar has dissolved, place the pan on a low heat and bring to a simmer. Add the lemon juice and the cloves. Cook for 30 minutes until the pumpkin has softened and darkened slightly in colour. Remove from heat.
3. Leave to cool and serve in bowls with syrup. Garnish with crushed walnuts.
