Any reputable barber will have a client or two in its shop and this will be the your key to try it out. When entering a barber, it’s necessary to take a seat on the bench and smile politely. In a typical Turkish manner, you’ll be greeted and offered tea. Whether the barber speaks your language or not, is unimportant, as you can signal and instruct quite clearly what you want.
The process starts, with a cut throat razor shave. The face is lathered with soap and the shave begins. After this, is the haircut and then the stray hairs around the ears are burned by a long implement dipped in alcohol and ignited. To finish it all off, a massage is performed.
