Istanbul’s Galerist is congregating an exhibition of iconic artist Andy Warhol throughout June. The exhibition, which is coming to Turkey’s capital city for the first time will highlight the 20th-century artist’s films and portraits. Warhol’s filming career was mainly focused on filming famous people and showing them as beautiful, while living their daily lives and doing their daily activities. Some of the people included in his films were: Edie Sedgwick, Lou Reed, Susan Sontag and Dennis Hopper.
His legendary, iconic works included artists such as Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe.
The Galerist in Pera and Galatasaray will feature the following Warhol films: “Blow Jo,” “Lupe,” starring Edie Sedgwick; “Empire,” “Camp” and “Horse.”
The exhibition ends on July 9th.
